Writing a Village:
Poet Laureate of Takoma Park, Anne Becker, is offering a series of community poetry workshops for beginners and experienced writers. Each workshop will consist of three 90 minute meetings, in which we’ll consider a model poem, then participants will compose their own poems to be presented to the group for appreciation and constructive comments. Poems generated in the series will be gathered in an anthology and published by the Arts and Humanities Commission. Location: Takoma Park Community Center, 7500 Maple Ave. Workshops are free but registration is required. Call Sara Daines at (301) 891-7224, or e-mail SaraD@takomagov.org.
